Nothing New to Post

There's not too much new and exciting to post about the dogs. All is still well :)

Here's a cute video of Rudi and Sophie wrestling. I think Sophie stayed on the ground so she would be at the same level as Rudi :D

And here's a cute video of Daisy barking at the cat - she really didn't want her to get on the bed!!!

So many dogs, so little lap space!

So, the little dogs (Kirby, Rudi and Daisy) are all so spoiled that they need to have a comfy lap to lay in as much as possible! Well, sometimes there just isn't enough room on our two small human laps for three silly dogs - so they make due with whatever they can get :)

Even the cat decided she needed some cuddle time! And here's a close up from the picture above of cute little Daisy squished up on my leg.

Even if we humans are busy doing something, there is always room on our lap (or so the dogs think!).

Sometimes, if there is no human lap space available, a basket of clean clothes makes a perfect bed!

Or, even a lap of someone you just met makes a perfect place to hang out (this is Jeff's dad who came over yesterday).

And sometimes, when there is just no lap available at all, they have to make due with cuddling with each other. This is only done as an absolute last resort though!

What a difficult thing it is to be a little dog!!

One Week Down, One Week to Go!

I can't believe this week has gone by so fast! Although it sounds crazy to think that you guys still have one more week to go! You must be tired visiting all that family, I'm tired from just two days of it :D

The dogs are doing good and are mostly having a fun time (there have been a few doggy arguments!).

It's so funny that of the 4 of them Daisy gets the most excited about going on a walk. She wiggles so much when she sees us grab the leashes that it's hard to put it on her! And I love when she starts biting the leash when we're walking - it's almost like she's saying: "Okay, now it's my turn to walk you!"

And Rudi is just the sweetest boy! But, man does he have a crazy side :D He's so fun to have around!

I've been taking pictures and videos of the dogs all week, and here are my favorites:

Rudi chewing on his bone.

Kirby and Sophie wanted to chew too! Kirby ended up breaking that one, so I owe you guys 1 rubber bone toy, sorry!

Daisy and Jeff playing video games together - so cute!!!

Rudi saying hi to our cat Madame - he's very nervous around her!

Rudi chewing on the big dog bone :D

It's so big compared to him!

I love this picture of Daisy, she's so pretty!

Rudi giving Jeff some doggy kisses :D

This video was taken right after a walk - I guess they didn't get enough energy out after walking over 2 miles!!! Crazy dogs :D

Kirby and Rudi are such a perfect match; same size, same personality, same energy level. They were playing rope for a while, but I had to take it away when they started getting mad at each other!

Well, I hope you guys are having a great time!

Rudi and Daisy Say "Merry Christmas!!!"

Sorry haven't posted anything in a few days! Christmas Eve and Christmas are always so crazy for us!

We just got home and the dogs are eating their dinners and getting their crazies out :) But, they are doing great and both are happy!!

I'll post some more pictures of them tomorrow. Hope you two had a great Christmas!!!!

A Nice Day

The dogs and I had a nice relaxing day today. The weather was beautiful and Rudi, Kirby and Sophie enjoyed the sunshine and played outdoors as much as they could.

Rudi even enjoyed chewing on a stick :D

Daisy on the other hand decided that her time would be best spent chewing on a rawhide bone on the couch!

The rest of the time she followed me around while I did some chores. She even helped me fold the laundry.
Well, help might not be the best word. But, she gave me lots of face kisses, which made the job more pleasant :D

Then it was nap time. Sophie stayed in her doggy bed on the floor, while Kirby, Rudi and Daisy cuddled up on the couch together.

Not too much more to report, just wanted to give you a quick update how today went :D

Rudi is so strange!

Does he do this at your house? He keeps going into the bedroom, getting Jeff's dirty socks, bringing them out to the couch and giving them to me!! Thanks Rudi, it's just what I always wanted!

I guess I need to do a load of laundry today :D

A busy Sunday

Today was a busy day for us humans. We had plans to go to our friends' daughter's 3rd birthday party in Tracy at 1pm, so we knew we had to get a lot of energy out of the dogs this morning since we were going to be leaving them for a large portion of the day.

The morning started out nice and calm; Daisy and Rudi enjoyed some lap time while Jeff and I had our coffee.

After our breakfast we took all 4 of them on a walk together. I thought it was going to be a disaster, but it actually went really well. Rudi and Daisy pulled quite a bit at the beginning, but after a few minutes Daisy calmed down, especially when we let her walk in front of all the other dogs (she has to be the leader!). So, I walked Daisy, Kirby and Sophie while Jeff walked Rudi (I can't get over how strong he is!!). People must have thought we were crazy with four dogs, we kept getting funny smirks or looks of amazement from anyone we passed by!

When we got back to the house we had them all play in the backyard to get even more energy out of them. Sophie, Rudi and Kirby all played fetch for a while, but Daisy did not want to play with all the big dogs running around - too dangerous I guess :) So, Jeff stayed out and played fetch with only her for a few minutes while I fed the big dogs breakfast.

Then, when it was Daisy's turn to eat I decided to try something new and let her eat on the couch like a princess. It worked like a charm, she ate every bite!!

In the few rare moments when all the other dogs are occupied and I can just spend some time alone with Daisy, she is the sweetest little girl; all tail wags and kisses! She just wants things done her way :D I only wish we had a "Daisy Rule Book" so we could keep her happy all the time. Apparently treating her like a princess is written in that book, it works very well!

After all that the dogs were pretty pooped. But, since we ended up being gone for about 8 hours today they were really crazy when we got home! After some potty time in the yard and some dinner in their bellies they have all finally calmed down and are now sleeping in the living room while we're relaxing and watching some t.v. Four dogs doesn't seem like that many when they're all being so good :D

4 dogs, 2 humans, and 1 queen size bed - oh my!

Well sleeping arrangements last night were interesting :D Luckily Sophie is perfectly okay with sleeping on the floor in her dog bed because it was crowded enough with Kirby, Rudi, Daisy, Jeff and Me. But, we made it work. We ended up making Daisy go on the floor until Rudi and Kirby settled in, she was getting really mad at them! Then after a minute or so she calmed down and we brought her back up. I think all three of them ended up under the covers in the center of the bed and Jeff and I were left with the edges! We all stayed warm, that's for sure :)

Last night Daisy didn't really eat much dinner, but I figured she was just uncomfortable and would just end up eating more for breakfast. That was not the case - she was just as upset this morning. So, I ended up making all the other dogs leave the kitchen and I put some bacon grease (from our breakfast) in her food. That made her a bit happier and she ate enough that I didn't have to worry about her starving anymore!

After breakfast we all went outside for some yard work - well, Jeff I did yard work while the dogs sniffed and played! Even Daisy got in on the chase game this morning, I wish I had my camera out there! After a few hours I brought them all in 1 at a time to thoroughly wash the mud off their feet. All except for Rudi who had rolled in some chicken poop - he required a full bath. Jeff had to help me; that little dog is really strong and he did NOT want to take a bath!!! He's all nice and clean now though, no more chicken poop smell :D

And after a busy doggy morning, they are all happily napping in the living room. Kirby and Sophie are in their dog beds on the floor, and Daisy & Rudi are on the couch next to me. They said to say hi and they miss you, but they hope you're having a good time!

Oh, and you guys so did not have to give us any money for watching them!!! Thank you, but we really can't accept it! Just having the dogs is so much fun, that's payment enough, really :D

Their First Day With Us

Hi John and Jessica! I decided to just start a blog so that you two can see how your babies are doing here in Woodland while you're on your trip. I hope everything goes great, and I don't want you to worry at all about the pups. They're going to be fine :D

Today has gone really well. After you two left, I let Sophie and Kirby in to say hi to Rudi and Daisy. Daisy was very upset at the whole event and got really mad at Kirby for sniffing her bag of stuff, so I had to put it in another room :) But, everyone got along fine after that; they were just all super excited! Rudi and Kirby then spent the next 10 minutes following each other around the back yard peeing on everything and then peeing wherever the other one just went...boys!!

I went to school for a holiday get together with my lab group, so Rudi and Daisy had to spend about 2 1/2 hours in their crate this morning. Of course, they didn't want to go in, but I gave them a treat - bribes always seem to work well.

When I got back I tried to get a game of fetch going, but only Kirby was interested. So, I took the ball away and let them just run around. Rudi was very frustrated that Sophie and Kirby weren't chasing him at all; he kept chasing them, barking and nipping at their heals! Here's a video:

Daisy has been like my little shadow today. If I'm in the kitchen, she's in kitchen. If I'm on the couch, she's on the couch. She's so sweet, but if there's any little thing that she doesn't approve of we all hear about it - I'm going to start calling her Daisy the Grouch :D

Rudi on the other hand has really been enjoying the backyard. He just wants to be out there, even if all the other dogs are inside. He just sniffs and pees, and sniffs some more. If that makes him happy, that's fine with me! He seems interested in the chickens and duck, but not so much that he's trying to get in their pen.

Hope your flight went well today and you've settled in okay.
