A busy Sunday

Today was a busy day for us humans. We had plans to go to our friends' daughter's 3rd birthday party in Tracy at 1pm, so we knew we had to get a lot of energy out of the dogs this morning since we were going to be leaving them for a large portion of the day.

The morning started out nice and calm; Daisy and Rudi enjoyed some lap time while Jeff and I had our coffee.

After our breakfast we took all 4 of them on a walk together. I thought it was going to be a disaster, but it actually went really well. Rudi and Daisy pulled quite a bit at the beginning, but after a few minutes Daisy calmed down, especially when we let her walk in front of all the other dogs (she has to be the leader!). So, I walked Daisy, Kirby and Sophie while Jeff walked Rudi (I can't get over how strong he is!!). People must have thought we were crazy with four dogs, we kept getting funny smirks or looks of amazement from anyone we passed by!

When we got back to the house we had them all play in the backyard to get even more energy out of them. Sophie, Rudi and Kirby all played fetch for a while, but Daisy did not want to play with all the big dogs running around - too dangerous I guess :) So, Jeff stayed out and played fetch with only her for a few minutes while I fed the big dogs breakfast.

Then, when it was Daisy's turn to eat I decided to try something new and let her eat on the couch like a princess. It worked like a charm, she ate every bite!!

In the few rare moments when all the other dogs are occupied and I can just spend some time alone with Daisy, she is the sweetest little girl; all tail wags and kisses! She just wants things done her way :D I only wish we had a "Daisy Rule Book" so we could keep her happy all the time. Apparently treating her like a princess is written in that book, it works very well!

After all that the dogs were pretty pooped. But, since we ended up being gone for about 8 hours today they were really crazy when we got home! After some potty time in the yard and some dinner in their bellies they have all finally calmed down and are now sleeping in the living room while we're relaxing and watching some t.v. Four dogs doesn't seem like that many when they're all being so good :D

  1. She is a princess... its so insane! Check out our blog at jjschwind.blogspot.com. You can see where we threw her a 'princess-themed' birthday party a while back. LOL. You know our dogs too well now! She was always a princess, from the moment we picked her up at the shelter!
